Star of 'L.A. Ink' opens Oregon tattoo convention in Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. -- Eugene welcomes Oregon's first tattoo convention. Oregon Ink kicks off this weekend with reality TV star Corey Miller from the show L.A. Ink."It's funny to think it is a new thing here with the new convention but it is really not a a new thing. It's just a new opportunity for all the artist that are here to really showcase what they have been doing," Miller said.

Corey Miller has over 25 years of tattooing experience. But now that he is on the reality show LA Ink, he is able to bring the art of tattooing into people's homes.  And as a headliner for this weekend's convention, he will be one of many displaying their body art."I'm here to support people to come out and look into the community and see all the great artists," Miller said.Miller specializes in portraits and black and grey tattoos. He admitted that he will be scouting out talent at the convention. He said in the ever-changing world of tattooing, it is good to see what others are doing."It will always change. It's very organic and tattooing is not done evolving. I'm sure of that," Miller said.The convention is April 10-12 at the Lane County Fairgrounds.Click here to watch video.
